The Fernandez Family

Max Fernandez was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico.His mother and father were divorced, when Max was very young.At the age of six, Max, his mother, and grandparents all moved to Columbus, Georgia.It was there at Grace Baptist Church on July 24, 1994 that he received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.Max was called to preach that fall.In the fall of 1999, he went to Crown College for that year.There he met his future wife Catrina Swanson.The following year he interned at Buford Road Baptist Church in Richmond Virginia.Following that summer, he moved to Middletown, Ohio where he finished at the Grace Baptist Bible Institute in 2002.During his time in Middletown OH, Max served as the Jr. High Director for 2 ½ years, and Youth Pastor for 2 ½ years.In July of 2006, he came on full time staff at Grace.

Catrina was born in Rockford, Illinois.There she and her family attended North Love Baptist Church.Catrina was raised in a Christian home and led to the Lord by her father, Maurice Swanson.In the Early 90’s, Catrina’s family moved to Middletown, OH where her father has practiced medicine ever since.She was married to Max Fernandez June 2, 2001.Catrina grew up caring for her ill brother Christopher Daniel Swanson.He suffered from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.Chris passed away in May of 2002.In 2005, Max and Catrina had their first child, Josiah Daniel Fernandez.Josiah’s middle name was after Catrina’s brother, Chris.Her heart’s desire is to serve and honor Christ.
